PSI’s Production Studio

The ideal

Version A

This iteration integrates several components that will improve production while remaining empathetic to the potential demand for the space when the office is laden with traffic.

The black soundproof curtains add dampening to the already insulated walls while providing a quick, non-reflective background for video use. They also provide the opportunity to control the amount of ambient light entering the space—freeing the production team from its dependency on natural light.

The shelves, couch, table, etc. are modular and can be moved if the room is need for another purpose.

Version B

This iteration takes version A to the next level. It’s not concerned with being modular, it’s optimized for production.

It builds upon its predecessor with the addition of a cycloramic wall, wall-mounted tool organizers, and a film equipment closet.

The design of the studio was based on PSI’s existing design within their office in Valparaiso, Florida. The studio would be innovative while maintaining cohesion with the brand’s design philosophy—from the industrial interior design, the emphasis on comfortable furniture, and the open concept layout—the emphasis is flow.

To conserve space and improve automation, the space will utilize ceiling-mounted RGB lighting fixtures that can be controlled via DMX. This opens a world of possibilities in regard to backgrounds and environmental projection, improving the production team’s options and versatility.
