PSI’s Production Studio

The Canvas

The first order of business was surveying the potential space—gathering measurements and learning what preventative measures we would have to take.

I noticed that this space was in desperate need of soundproofing as well, so I developed a hypothetical acoustic treatment.

Shall we address sound?

The first iteration was a non-destructive approach, the studio could still function as a conference space if need be. The dampeners would quiet some of the sound bleeding into the studio but the issue of reflection from the hollow walls and glass windows would persist.

When I proposed this to the senior management they were eager to see what an ideal setup would look like, especially since they seldom have need for this space.

So we decided that we would insulate the walls and use soundproof windows—meaning I had more room to experiment with potential designs.
